Anti-cheat?

This could potentially be a HUGE problem. What do you plan to do in order to prevent cheating?

well i dont really think anyone will make cheats for this (dont take this offencivly) but right now this game is only know to a small community and with a small amount of people there wont be a need for cheats but eventually (hopefully) the community will get bigger and then you could have a potentioal for cheaters :wink:

That's exactly my point. One hacker who knows what he's doing could be devastating.

..we have some anti-cheatfeatures.. every client will be checked via the world server and the autoupdate-tool.. changed, missing or older files will automaticly be replaced..
..this is what I know - ghost?

You could potentially send a false CRC, or use an external packet shaper that doesn't even modify the client.

We arent forgetting cheat protection even though we know that the community is pretty small atm,

yeah basicly what frog said, plus some other stuff.

Wallhacking is more or less impossible :)
Logs for each player keep tracking of everything they do, so I will just check the logs, should somebody get accused for cheating.

A comfortable THIS GUY IS CHEATING function ingame will also make the discovering of cheaters easier.

Plus some other stuff that we wont give away right now :)

because if you dont see the player, you wont receive his data, thus you can hack but you wont see any player behind the wall :P

What if you're lagging, and you change position to one in which you should be able to see the player? Then, since your client doesn't know about the player, the dead-reckoning won't put that player there, so as soon as you complete a response to the server, the player will "appear".

I guess I don't quite follow you. In other Q3 games (MoHAA, CoD, etc.) you don't "see" the player if they're behind a wall either.
