I've heard about this neat little free game in the works called Nosferatu: Carpe Noctem. they haven't update in a while though, I wonder what they're up to?

yeah, I played the beta, but meh all the stuff that makes it awesoke requires battlefunds, which in turn costs money...

The new alien swarm based on source engine is free including source code (not of the source engine obiously) as valves resposne to the udk.:
