Okay, as soon as I heard about Nosferatu and saw the awesopme models, I was immediatelly encouraged to try modeling myself. BTW, who is the moder?

Anyhow, here's my first weapon model. I'm especially proud of the scope :

To those who model, you'de NEVER goess how I managed a scope after only 3 days!

In case, you're wondering I use Wings3D and I render in Yafray.

Damn, I'm so high off of my latest achievement, I think I'm going to go have a wine..

Oh and last but not least :

|_}UM{--}G{_|FeAR, this model sucks of course, but for getting in the program and testing around its quite ok -hehe.. modling is like playing an instrument, you never stop learning and get better each hour you try.. so keep on!
i also started with modling weapons.. a few years ago.. and they also sucked :P ..btw I never modled a weapon after my first trys.. wondering why everyone starts with modling a weapon.. here u have links of my first trys:

my first model: shotgun

my second model: futuritic smg

my third model(s): nades

Wow, nice, but how much time did you spend practicing before you made those?

I mean, yu could spend a whole year, learning the program, then make your model and it would be incredible for a first one, you see what I mean?

What program did you use?

Try using WIngs then try making models that are as good as the one you posted above.

As far as I know, wings isn't very good at working with curved surfaces.

oh don´t know.. long time ago.. a few days maybe.. i just followed some tutorials, then i tried something on my own.. i allways used 3dsmax.. btw: u can download gmax for free.. its a "light" version of 3dmax for modders and so on..
btw: i did a bit mapping before starting with modeling, perhaps thats the reason, why i got quite fast into modeling..

Probably extruded and rotated else it was vertex manipulating althou it can be done via edge manipulating but that way its harder IMO
