Thompson and Condemned

Postby Ghostface on Sun Apr 10, 2005 8:48 pm

Can you imagine how hard it is to find a new starting sentence every week ? Anyway this week the highly controversial thompson M1A1 skinned by pete (dont start to complain about the reason for an M1A1 again, I can assure you there IS a reason).

Next a couple of new work in progress shots from JMW's map condemned.

Also this week, a new track from the Nosferatu Soundtrack, enjoy:

In other news tnoh joined the mapper department, and he perfectly fits the style of the game (just take a look at his previous maps)
I also started to update my .plan again, which you should check out , since it reveals some nice insider stuff ;) ( Parapraxis did as well).

That thompson is giving me an urge to go play some Enemy Territory. Looks awesome.

And good job on the map, it just keeps getting better.

Track fits perfectly for the theme. Creepy.

And welcome to Tnoh. I bet you guys are gonna enslave him now.

Aside from the aformentioned "problem" with the Thompson, it looks good (give me a drum, damn you). Also, while the geometry and design of the map look good, those textures could use some work, mainly in how they repeat.

A) those who don't like them.
B) those who want to see the M1928 in Nosferatu instead of the M1A1.

those who want the thompson with the drum magzine are those equal to the people in counterstrike who use the AWP all the time :P

i mean comeone if your gonna use a drum fed weapon at least use the .22 american-180 itd be like the TMP

What, the people who like better weapons because they're better? A good soldier with a good weapon can always be a better soldier with a better weapon, while a bad soldier with a better weapon will still be worse than a good soldier with a bad weapon. And why would you use an American-180 instead of an M1928? The American-180 is a gun designed for police use, using the .22LR ammunition for it's low report, low probability of ricochet, and low probability of overpenetration, none of which are even applicable in military situation. None of the military advantages of a .22 bullet show up until significantly higher muzzle energies than those of a .22LR. Moreover, it's not in any way similar to a TMP, which is about as close as you can get to a PDW with para.

Edit: Also, it's just not a Tommy Gun without the drum. That's one of the reasons that the M1 doesn't have one (in addition to some reliability issues); military contracting can be fickle business.
