USP Match & Design Document

Postby Ghostface on Mon Apr 25, 2005 5:22 pm

After our problem from last week, we are back with a little update.
Those who check the Nosferatu frontpage frequently have read that I had a data loss last week (check the last newspost directly below this one, if you want to know more about it).
Anyway the source changes has mostly been recovered and we are slowly getting back to full workspeed.
This week the USP Match skin by Pete:

I also updated the Design Document (which gives you a good idea of the game design), and made a nice pdf out of it, additionally theres a new track by Parapraxis

My .plan will be updated either today or tomorrow so dont worry.

Great job Pete and Aze, that gun is hooot!

And the soundtrack is sweet, I cant wait to play the game with it at arround 2 AM, with vampires popping out of every dark corner and making me shit my pants over and over again.

Cool gun, I have to say! Pretty good work. And I also like the design guide. For my part I am not envolved in this project, but I am very interested in it. It was fascinating to gain more know-how about the technical backgrounds of the game by such a professional documentation  .
It's a pity I hadn't had the time to download the new soundtrack, but I am sure I will do so tomorrow. I hope it is not too scaring, but to be on the safe way (and to reduce the risk of a heart attack) I am going to listen to it tomorrow afternoon - and it's better for my weak nerves  !

All in all I am more satisfied than ever about Nosferatu with its fast increasing progress.

edit: removed some typing errors

Thx for the kind words, and thx to Mr.Supperguppy for pointing out a little design-bug with non-mozilla browsers.

Hmmm, in the design doc is says that you don't want the USP Match to be silver (Like Lara's), and yet the skin is silver. Did you guys change your minds or something? I like it either way, just a little discrepancy in the doc. Everything looks really good, I'll be playing this game on release day. As long as it isn't all buggy like GhostOps. Azelito's models are fucking ace btw. That man is a genius.

Hmm I kept these infos in ? Hehe though I deleted them, anyway I figured that I misstook the walther pWhatever from Underworld as a black USP Match, although I figured after rewatching it that she laters gets the USP Match and that it was silver so its fine.

well, the frame is too bright, the slide is too dark, the text looks flat, some of the small details look flat, and lastly, it's a USP Match.

I just don't like the "match" written on the side of it. Nice job though :D

The match written on the side is accurate to the realgun.

The text looks flat cause it is just printed on it.

And lastly the darkness/brightness relies very much on the render.

Also the slide will have a specular shader so it will look metalish/shiny ingame.
