I was just about to ask if you were using different models for 1st and 3rd person. You read my mind!

But that doesn't mean the 3rd-person models'll look completely different.

At least from what I understand, it's going to be done pretty much the same way that the default CS 3rd person models (up to 1.6) were done, but with about 5 times more detail (iirc the default CS world models were like 100 polys each), and still using the skin from the 1st person model.

Is that right? :\

yes.. don´t worry -you´ll not have to skin each weapon twice :) ..if the auto-reduce system works fine we could use this, if not we could model a very simple model and skin it with renders of the first-person versions..

Well if your computer can handle it you can use the highpoly firstperson versions, but usually thats not necessary, so most people will select the lowpoly thirdperson models.

How about the third person models use the 'highpoly' firstperson models, but with halved texture sizes (256x256) and parts that you won't see, removed (such as the top of mags, bullets, internals, etc)?

Theres another idea for that, maybe the TEAM wants to integrate Performancesettings, which means for lower PC u set lower settings, and play the game with lower polygon Models.

This IS the idea. The game is very flexible so there are alot of quality/detail settings for stuff like effects and shaders etc.

And yeah, everyone calm down :)

You try to live in Israel and see how affordable a PC that would run all games is.

So next time, before you make assumptions, make sure you wont get yourself sounding like a dumbass.
