I have to agree with Fear on some level.. Tooling around with wild animals is very dangerous, even for someone with a great deal of experience. Although I feel bad for his wife and kids, I can't say that this outcome was unexpected.

The irony is that Stingrays in general are quite placid, and rarely kill anyone. With all of the *really* dangerous animals that Steve handles (snakes, crocs, etc) it's somewhat ironic that he was killed by one of the most docile.

But in the end, I do think that Irwin was a genuinely good human being and he will be missed.

I still can't believe he died, there was a croc hunter marathon after he died, and because I get canadian discovery channel, daily planet had a memorial episode.
