Foreign not so traditional Vampire Movies

Well a vampire game without vampire section ? Can't be, so everything (non game related) vampire goes here.

Foreign not so traditional Vampire Movies

Postby Ghostface on Wed Dec 16, 2009 8:10 pm

So I recently watched Thirst by Chan-wook Park (of Oldboy fame).
I really like his movies, and Thirst was different but I quite enjoyed it, I watched it with subs and that might not be everyones deal.

It's basically about a priest getting infected with the vampire virus while having a blood transfusion.

Beautifully shot as always with Park and some nice nudity too, Check it out if you feel like it:

Tonight I am going to clear a movie that has been on my to-watch list since it was released.

Let the right one in, a swedish movie that has received a lot of praise.
I can't comment on it yet but it should be interesting, I got me an english dubbed version tho.

While I usually do not like dubbed movies, in austria (german) dubbing is common, and thus I can more easily look over it than others, as I pretty much watched only dubbed movies/tv-shows for the first 15 years of my life.

Sometimes I am just too lazy to read subtitles, if I understand the original language most of the time I watch the movie in that tho (so german/french/english).

Anyway I get back on "Let the right one" in tomorrow :)

So I watched Let the right one in yesterday.

I highly recommend it, however do not expect a splatter movie. It has some nice effects but it's all about the story.

I don't want to spoil anything but if you want to see something different check it out.

9/10 from me.

I recently finally got to watch Cronos (1993) by Guillermo del Toro.
Very unusual vampire movie, but I quite enjoyed it.
I really love del Toros movies anyway and I highly recommend watching this way overlooked movie.

Btw. the chick on the poster does not appear in the movie, it's just missleading marketing from the US distributor ;)
