A week passed and a new update - woha surprise :P

Despite the late updates in the past weeks, we somehow managed to prepare some new stuff for this week. I know that a lot of you are waiting for some new ingame goodies, and rest assured that you will get some with the next couple of updates (maybe not exactly THE next one, but you will get them soon).

Theres some great progress with the maps happening and I am really satisfied with the progress.

But anyway, lets go on with some media! First of all let me introduce the crossbow by logger, followed by his glock 17 (a quality weapon made in austria :D ) skinned by Pete.

They look great, but is anyone else concerned that the crossbow is nearly 3000 polys? I would make the bow one solid piece and definately get rid of the screws. And some other polys wherever I could make appropriate sacrifices...

It looks really good but as mike said the crossbow has alot of polys :o

I'm loving the glock skin. Pete even got that little laser warning there, which is an awesome detail.

And I'm loving the crossbow, I cant wait to see it skinned.

Yippieh, Crossbow is here :D . I have waited for a long time for it (and Ghostface too) but now it is there. It looks pretty nice in general. But there is something I want to criticise - the bolts. I think their end looks too rectangular. I think it should look more like this one:

Here the end is more rounded than yours. I think rounder is better, but rhis is just my opinion. Maybe you check it with the other members of the forum. But beside this the crossbow is very well done.

And I am happy the Glock 17 is skinned now. And yeah, i love sound suppresors ... :wink: ... and especially these on Austia weapons!

Yeah, I think that the bolts modeled have more of an arrow's end. If you can change it I think the rounded ones would look more authentic.

Well of course the end of the arrows wont be that rectangular. However instead of wasting polys on it, they will be alpha skinned (just like certain parts on the skeleton). So don't worry about that.

Yeah, alpha skins are cool. They save performance to waste it on another part of the game :twisted:
And I am looking forward happily for the skinned crossbow. An the skelly too!

The crossbow and Glock 17 looks awesome... Alot of polys on the crossbow, doh! :? But keep up the good work.. Can't almost wait until the game comes! :)

Well its not that much of a problem anyway since you will only see 1 crossbow at a time and you can't use it akimbo or something. We will see if we can still loose some polys tho.

The world models will have a drasticly decreased polycount. The crossbow, for instance, might be down at 500 or something.
