New Ingame Media Update

Postby Ghostface on Sun Dec 13, 2009 6:56 pm

So after posting lots of twitter updates, and getting comments like "update without screenshots... dull" - I had to post some new screenshots :)
Development has been on/off alot lately, with larger gaps in the middle of the year. But lots of progress during the last months.

We are currently focusing on getting everything playtest worthy done, which resulted in me spending one weekend syncing all the weapons to sounds and adjusting thirdperson weapon positions.
All in all, the progress over the last week has been incredible.

Of course now and then we add some awesome stuff as well, as happened the other day with the stealth kills (aka fatalities from behind ;) Basically if a vampire succeeds in sneaking up to a slayer from behind, he is able to perform one of various awesome fatality like kills (i.e. heart rip out + eat).

At the moment me and Fragger are animating those kill sequences, however if an animator wants to help out -> contact me.

Anyways, enjoy the screenshots (all work in progress so the one or other thing might obviously need improving/fixing).

If you like micro updates - make sure to join us on twitter or check the frontpage :)

The offset is caused by the animation, having already moved to the next frame and the muzzle being still visible from the previous frame position - it is not noticeable when playing - we might change it a little tho - like I said some stuff is still getting adjusted :)

Yeah you can disabled the grain effect.
I will also add proper glsl framebuffer post processing effects.

Btw. Sorry I messed up on the lightbox settings, you should now be able to view the screenshots as a slideshow :)

Fuck me! like Flakk I thought this project was dead, glad to see that I was wrong! funnily enough, I was recently pondering what you guys might think about Epic releasing the UDK for free for non-commercial projects after you put so much time and effort into pimping out the, what is it again, Quake II engine? not that I think you should switch to it, that would be a ridiculous idea. :)

The thing with the UDK is that, it does not include the engine source, but most importantly there's no linux support.

And I switched to Linux as my main system which disqualifies everything not supporting Linux.

Great news. What distro are you using? I'm planning to fiddle a bit with Linux Mint 8 these following days.
